Skräddar Djurberga fäbod, an excursion in the forests around Orsa
Skräddar-Djurberga (GPS 61.2630 N, 14.8460 E), 376 m.
Skräddar Djurberg is a very well-preserved Sommeralm with a house from the 1920s, but also with very original, old buildings from the 16th century. In the summer there are cows, goats and other animals. You can also enjoy a hearty meal with homemade cheese.
The pasture is open in summer from June 21 to August 10 between 12.00 and 17.00 clock. Closed on friday before Midsummer Day (Midsommarafton).
The sale of pasture produce is carried out depending on the stock and only cash payment is possible.
Skräddar-Djurberg is about 20 km (about 40 minutes by car) north east of Orsa, just a few kilometers north of Skattungbyn. Drive the route 296 towards Voxna and follow the signs in Mässbacken.
You can also combine this excursion with a trip to the
Storstupet and Helvetesfallet waterfall, or even walking a
15km round trip trail: Skräddar-Djurberga – HelvetesFallet – Storstupet; difficulty: medium.
